British Chamber of Commerce Azerbaijan looks like a geat effort against negative effects caused by co2 - well done As a human race we understand fully that carbon is created in a stars core, during atomic fusion. Then after supernovae the atoms from a nebula which eventually, due to space time curvature can form planets like earth. As a race we simply use the carbon atoms and create co2 during process. We fear a 1.5 degree temperature increase. However this planet has been 9 degrees hotter during the Mesozoic period. Life evolved and survived as this temperature rise increased gradually over 100’s of millions of years. Human race is causing temperature increase at a more rapid rate but the planet doesn’t really care only humans. There have been 5 major extinctions during earths ‘life’ period and a sixth is inevitable If I personally know all of this and I’m NOT one of the clever ones then as a knowledgeable race it’s all so simple. Therefore as a race we can cease the rapid effects of global warming in the blink of an eye. There are two simple reasons why we do not : 1. Money 2. Political gain (career out of carbon) British Chamber of Commerce Azerbaijan will money and political gain win at COP 29? I hope not but……….

It was a privilege to attend the BCCA's COP29-focused event in London. I am grateful to Baroness Emma Nicholson, Ambassador Elin Suleymanov, and Narmin Jarchalova for setting the stage for an impactful COP29. The insights on Azpromo and harnessing the importance of the middle corridor by Zohrab Gadirov and renewable investments in Azerbaijan by Ulvi Mansurov were enlightening, highlighting Azerbaijan’s journey towards sustainability.
